DPD's innovative system prevents download link sharing and discovery to prevent unauthorized download of your valuable products.
Using a combination of authentication information, unique download URLs for each customer, optional product tracking features, and vendor configured download limits DPD arms your store with an advanced anti-theft and sharing system for your products.
Buyer Authentication
DPD buttons attach additional authentication information to all transactions before they are passed to the processor of your choice for payment. Once the customer pays DPD verifies the processor's payment response, authentication information, as well as product details like price to ensure checkout variables were not changed. Download of your products is only authorized after all information is validated.
Unique Download URLs
Unlike other scripts or systems that point all your downloads to one common "thankyou.html" page, DPD generates a unique download URL for every customer. Simply hunting around for the "thank you" page on your web site won't work- DPD generates dynamic pages on the fly for each customer, preventing automated or manual link discovery.
Configurable Download Limits
To prevent link sharing DPD allows the vendor to set limits on download pages. Vendors can set how long the download page will remain active, the number of downloads allowed for each purchase, or a combination of both. This prevents buyers from posting their authorized download URL to a forum or email list and sharing your product with the world.
PDF Buyer Tracking
DPD's PDF Buyer Tracking feature marks every page of PDF products with the buyers name, email, and DPD transaction ID. This DRM-Free solution provides for positive identification of who's copy is in the wild and is a strong psychological deterrent to sharing your product with others. The personal contact information attached to the product file allows you to find out exactly who shared your product online if it happens.
